Boccia Reenters Campania Race, Presents Degree Papers at Castellammare Event

Her return follows fresh scrutiny of multiple criminal probes tied to the Sangiuliano affair.

Overview

  • Maria Rosaria Boccia confirmed she will run in the Campania regional elections on 23–24 November on Stefano Bandecchi’s Alternativa Popolare list.
  • At a press event in Castellammare di Stabia, she showed an exam booklet from Parthenope and a Pegaso bachelor’s certificate, insisting she did not lie about her degree.
  • Prosecutors in Naples are investigating alleged falsehood and fraud related to her university documents, alongside probes for lesions, privacy violations, stalking and illicit interference.
  • She previously withdrew after receiving a second avviso di garanzia linked to her dispute with Gennaro Sangiuliano, then reversed course and returned to the campaign with Bandecchi’s backing.
  • Sangiuliano is also on the ballot as Fratelli d’Italia’s lead candidate in Campania, and one outlet reports a separate trial for Boccia in Rome is slated to begin in February 2026.
