Overview
- Maria Rosaria Boccia confirmed she will run in the Campania regional elections on 23–24 November on Stefano Bandecchi’s Alternativa Popolare list.
- At a press event in Castellammare di Stabia, she showed an exam booklet from Parthenope and a Pegaso bachelor’s certificate, insisting she did not lie about her degree.
- Prosecutors in Naples are investigating alleged falsehood and fraud related to her university documents, alongside probes for lesions, privacy violations, stalking and illicit interference.
- She previously withdrew after receiving a second avviso di garanzia linked to her dispute with Gennaro Sangiuliano, then reversed course and returned to the campaign with Bandecchi’s backing.
- Sangiuliano is also on the ballot as Fratelli d’Italia’s lead candidate in Campania, and one outlet reports a separate trial for Boccia in Rome is slated to begin in February 2026.
