Overview
- Boca published its matchday squad for the trip to Deportivo Riestra and included 20-year-old Facundo “Jagger” Herrera in the first-team group for the first time.
- Coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena rested midfielder Leandro Paredes after his World Cup 2026 duty, creating the opening Herrera fills as a bench option.
- The first team is currently short on players because Leandro Lozano, Tomás Belmonte, Adam Bareiro, Milton Giménez and Carlos Palacios are all sidelined by injury.
- Herrera is a regular of Boca’s Reserva who won a Reserve title by converting the decisive penalty late in 2025 and has recently been deployed as a central midfielder as well as a centre-back.
- Boca has him under contract through December 2028 and already registered him on its Copa Sudamericana lista de buena fe, which makes him an eligible option for upcoming first-team matches.
