Bobby Sherman, 1960s Teen Idol and Paramedic Instructor, Dies at 81

He co-founded a Ghana children’s foundation focused on delivering education programs after leaving entertainment for emergency response training.

Overview

  • Sherman died on June 24, 2025, at his Encino home following a March announcement of stage 4 kidney cancer; his wife, Brigitte Poublon, confirmed the news through John Stamos.
  • He rose to fame in the late 1960s with hit singles including “Little Woman” and “Julie, Do Ya Love Me” and starred as Jeremy Bolt on ABC’s Here Come the Brides.
  • After retiring from the spotlight, he served as an EMT and technical reserve officer, teaching first aid and CPR to recruits with the Los Angeles Police Department.
  • Together with his wife, Sherman established the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children’s Foundation to support education and welfare programs for children in Ghana.
  • He is survived by his wife, Brigitte Poublon, two sons, Tyler and Christopher, and six grandchildren.
