Boat Explosion at Fort Lauderdale Sandbar Injures 11, Including Two Children

Nearly a dozen people were hurt when an explosion on a boat caused a fire in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Monday, officials said.

  • The blast occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Memorial Day at a shallow sandbar near the Lauderdale Yacht Club, hurling 13 people into the Intracoastal Waterway.
