Overview
- The boat overturned near D.L. Bliss State Park around 3 p.m. on June 21 after a large swell hit the vessel
- Six adults were recovered from the water and pronounced dead, while two others remain unaccounted for
- Two individuals were rescued alive and taken to a local hospital for treatment
- Weather data recorded wave heights of six to eight feet and winds up to 30 knots at the time of the incident
- Multiple agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, California State Parks and the South Lake Tahoe Police Department are coordinating the search
