• A 58-year-old resident found the large snake on her garden compost heap on Monday afternoon and alerted police.
• Officers and a trained Tierpark staff member identified an approximately 2.4–2.5 meter boa constrictor and secured the scene.
• Zoo specialists used a snake hook, crate and capture sack to collect the animal without resistance before moving it to quarantine.
• The zoo says the boa is an estimated 12-year-old female receiving heat, light and water before medical checks and feeding.
