BNDES Approves R$200 Million for Eve to Speed eVTOL Certification Push

Brazil’s development bank is channeling climate finance to advance a domestic eVTOL program toward certification.

Overview

  • The new funding will support electric propulsion integration and prepare Eve’s aircraft for ANAC type‑certification test campaigns.
  • With this approval, BNDES backing for Eve reaches R$1.2 billion in credit since 2022.
  • The package allocates R$160 million from the Fundo Clima and R$40 million from Finem, with repayment terms of up to 15 years.
  • Eve says a full‑scale prototype flight is near the turn of the year, while the bank’s president cites a goal for a first flight in 2026 and entry into service around 2027.
  • Production is planned in Taubaté, with an estimated US$90 million facility retrofit for a five‑seat, ~100 km‑range eVTOL and a nonbinding pipeline of about 2,800 units.
