BMW Unveils 500-Unit M850i Edition M Heritage at Monterey Car Week

Revived E31-era colors underscore BMW’s nostalgic send-off through a full suite of M-branded equipment before November production.

  • BMW officially unveiled the M850i Edition M Heritage at Monterey Car Week as a 500-unit limited run of the G16 8 Series Gran Coupe with xDrive.
  • The edition revives five original E31-era BMW Individual colors, including Bright Red, Mauritius Blue metallic, Cosmos Black metallic, Oxford Green metallic and Daytona Violet metallic.
  • Standard equipment includes an M carbon fiber roof with tri-color stripes, 20-inch Orbit Grey Style 895M wheels, the M Sport Professional package, a Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system and Driving Assistance Professional.
  • Mechanical specifications remain unchanged from the standard M850i, featuring a 523-hp N63 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8, an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and BMW’s xDrive system for a 0–60 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds.
  • US pricing starts at $130,400 plus a $1,175 destination fee, with production slated for November 2025, deliveries scheduled for early 2026 and most of the limited run allocated to the United States.
