Sheldon van der Linde led Session 2 for BMW M Team WRT with a 1:36.742 in the No. 24, 0.138 seconds clear of JDC-Miller’s Tijmen van der Helm.
Felipe Nasr paced the opening session in the No. 7 Porsche 963 with a 1:36.327, edging JDC-Miller’s Nico Pino by 0.004 seconds as Laurens Vanthoor went third.
Hunter McElrea set the Session 2 benchmark in LMP2 at 1:39.136 for United Autosports, while Corey Lewis topped the GT runners at 1:47.552 in Gradient’s Ford Mustang and Chaz Mostert led GTD Pro at 1:47.625.
Wayne Taylor Racing’s Cadillacs were the best non-Porsches in Session 1, BMWs ran mid-pack early, and Acura Meyer Shank’s cars logged limited laps after reported gremlins.
Testing interruptions included Will Power’s brief red flag for a Turn 1 spin in Session 1 and two Session 2 stoppages after Job van Uitert hit the Turn 1 wall and Esteban Masson halted in Turn 5.
