Overview

  • CEO Oliver Zipse confirmed that the iX3 will go on sale in early November as the inaugural model of BMW’s new Neue Klasse EV platform.
  • Production will begin at BMW’s new Debrecen plant in Hungary, marking the company’s largest single platform investment to date.
  • BMW targets up to 800 km of range under European test procedures and 400 kW charging capacity, exceeding the Tesla Model Y benchmarks.
  • The iX3 debuts a fresh design language alongside next-generation motors, batteries and in-car systems including iDrive X and Panoramic Vision.
  • A next-generation ‘digital nervous system’ computing platform delivering 20 times the power of current models will underpin BMW’s shift to software-defined vehicles.
