Overview
- The concept was unveiled in mid-October and presents a discreet, factory-developed armoured variant of the BMW 7 Series aimed at everyday security needs.
- BMW says the vehicle meets the BayB standard, which covers protection against common handgun ammunition such as 9×19 mm and .44 Magnum rounds.
- Armor is hidden behind the standard bodywork and includes much thicker ballistic glazing, ballistic steel and fibre-reinforced composite door structure, overlaps at joints, restricted window travel, an intercom and an attack alarm.
- The Concept 7 Protection is built on the M760e xDrive plug-in hybrid platform with recalibrated chassis, brakes and driver aids; published combined power figures vary across outlets at about 603–612 hp.
- BMW positions this model below its VR‑rated high-security cars, cites selected European markets for the concept, and will offer the concept’s BMW Individual rear console as an option on regular 7 Series cars from the second half of 2027 while leaving full production unconfirmed.
