BMW Recalls Over 291,000 SUVs Due to Faulty Cargo Rails

The recall affects 2018-2023 BMW X3 models, with replacement parts available starting August 30.

The issue involves interior cargo rails that can detach during a rear crash, increasing injury risk.
Affected models include X3 sDrive30i, X3 xDrive30i, X3 M40i, and X3 M vehicles.
BMW discovered the problem following an extreme crash in August 2022.
This recall follows a recent recall of over 390,000 BMWs for defective airbag inflators.
Owners will be notified by mail, and repairs will be provided free of charge.
