BMW Leads Bahrain FP2 With Van der Linde on Top, Aston Martin Second

The competitive order tightened with six manufacturers in the FP2 top six.

Sheldon van der Linde set a 1:48.780 early in FP2 to put BMW’s No. 20 M Hybrid V8 fastest for the session.
Marco Sorensen kept Aston Martin prominent in second, 0.25s off the best, with Peugeot’s Jean-Eric Vergne third on a 1:49.201.
Toyota’s Kamui Kobayashi, Porsche’s Julien Andlauer and Ferrari’s Antonio Giovinazzi completed the FP2 top six for six different makes.
The No. 78 Akkodis ASP Lexus led LMGT3 in FP2 with a 2:02.613 by Finn Gehrsitz, as the sister No. 87 car stopped early with a gearbox issue.
FP1 earlier saw Sorensen top the charts with a 1:49.697 by a clear margin and Ben Barker pace LMGT3, with FP3 scheduled for 12 p.m. local time.
