Overview

  • BMW Italia and ENI formalized a Letter of Intent on June 26 to develop joint solutions integrating advanced HVO biofuel and electric mobility.
  • HVO from Enilive, made entirely from renewable feedstocks, is compatible with validated diesel engines and can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 90 percent.
  • The collaboration rests on three pillars: promoting technological neutrality, expanding biofuel production, and boosting EV infrastructure through Plenitude’s On The Road charging hubs.
  • BMW Italia plans to test pure HVO across its diesel lineup, including around 500,000 vehicles already in operation in Italy, to evaluate performance and emission cuts.
  • Coordinated marketing campaigns will spotlight both advanced biofuels and expanded charging networks to drive broader adoption of low-emission transport solutions.
