BMC to Restart Aapli Chikitsa Yojana Diagnostic Scheme on August 1

Aimed at expanding affordable diagnostics, the program uses digital reporting with centralized data management to cover all dispensaries by August 15

Overview

  • The BMC resumes its flagship diagnostic tests scheme at 100 municipal health facilities on August 1 after a seven-month suspension.
  • The relaunch features a curated menu of 83 blood tests, comprising 66 basic and 17 advanced assays at nominal charges.
  • Under the new model, patient reports will be delivered directly via WhatsApp and all data will be integrated into the Health Management Information System.
  • Lifenity Health was appointed in June through a competitive tender to manage testing services across the city.
  • Initial coverage includes 16 suburban hospitals, 30 maternity homes, five specialty hospitals, Dr R N Cooper Hospital, the HBT Trauma Care Hospital and all dispensaries in Wards A to E.
