Overview

  • BMC has submitted a proposal to Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani to deploy nearly 200 additional engineers to oversee the Versova-Dahisar Link Road project.
  • A formal plan to demolish the seven-year-old Veer Savarkar flyover in Goregaon, including a two-tiered replacement with separate upper coastal and lower traffic decks, is under review.
  • Civil works on the 20-km Versova-Dahisar Link Road segment of Coastal Road Phase II are slated to begin in August/September 2025.
  • The ₹16,621 crore corridor will connect with the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road and other interchanges to establish a signal-free north-south and east-west network across the western suburbs.
  • Officials aim to complete Phase II by December 2028, featuring elevated roads, tunnels, and a cable-stayed bridge to cut travel times and ease congestion.
