BMC Schedules 22-Hour Water Shutdown Nov. 14–15 in Parts of Mumbai

BMC says the outage is required to replace five valves on key Tansa, Vihar trunk mains.

Overview

  • Supply will be switched off from 10:00 a.m. on November 14 to 8:00 a.m. on November 15, with some areas facing shorter early‑morning cuts on November 15.
  • Full shutdowns are slated in L Ward (Kurla) and M West Ward (Chembur), while N Ward (Ghatkopar) and F North Ward (MatungaSion) are scheduled for 3:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. on November 15.
  • Named localities include Rajawadi East and Vidyavihar in Ghatkopar; New Tilak Nagar, Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and multiple colonies in Kurla; Tilak Nagar and Pestom Sagar in Chembur; plus parts of Wadala, Sion, Matunga and Dadar.
  • The work covers four butterfly valves and one sluice valve on the old and new 1,200 mm Tansa mains and the 800 mm Vihar trunk main.
  • Residents in the affected areas have been advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly during the shutdown.
