Overview
- A 47-year-old Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation pest-control worker, Pandurang Todkar, fell about five to seven feet while inspecting a water tank at BDD Chawl No. 6-A and suffered a metal rod injury to his eye.
- Todkar was rushed to KEM Hospital in Parel where doctors attempted resuscitation but he was declared dead on arrival, with the incident reported to the civic control room at about 2:55–3:00 pm on Saturday.
- Mayor Ritu Tawde visited the family at the hospital, offered condolences, and directed officials to immediately start pensionary benefit procedures and to offer a municipal job to an eligible dependent.
