BMC Issues Boil Water Advisory for Kurla and Powai as Reservoir Supply Resumes

The measure aims to protect residents from temporary quality issues during the supply shift ahead of repairs on compartment 1.

Overview

  • The BMC will resume water supply on June 23 from compartment 2 of the Powai Low-Level Reservoir after completing its structural repairs.
  • Residents in Kurla North and South zones and select neighborhoods in S ward have been asked to boil and filter their drinking water for three to four days due to potential quality fluctuations.
  • Kurla North will receive water from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Kurla South from 6:30 PM to 8:50 AM, and S ward areas from 6:30 PM to 8:50 AM.
  • Once supply shifts fully to the repaired segment, the civic body will commence repairs on compartment 1 of the reservoir.
  • The BMC has requested cooperation from Powai and Kurla residents and reminded them to follow the safety advisory throughout the maintenance period.
