BMC and Forest Department Complete Mannat Inspection After CRZ Complaint

A report will determine whether the annex’s two-floor expansion complies with coastal regulation as well as heritage conservation rules.

Overview

  • On June 20, a joint team from the forest department and the BMC inspected Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat following activist Santosh Daundkar’s CRZ violation complaint.
  • The renovation approved in late 2024 includes adding two additional floors to the six-storey annexe adjacent to the Grade III heritage bungalow.
  • Staff at Mannat assured officials they would submit all relevant Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority and municipal clearance documents for review.
  • Manager Pooja Dadlani has denied any non-compliance, stating that all renovation work is proceeding in accordance with guidelines.
  • Officials will submit a detailed report next week to decide if the expansion breaches coastal regulation and heritage conservation rules.
