B&M Recalls Aptamil and Kendamil Baby Formula Over Expired Milk Risk

Danone says discounted out-of-date items breached its baby-formula marketing rules.

Overview

  • Customers are told not to use products with expiry dates of 08/10 or earlier and to return them to B&M for a refund or replacement.
  • Five SKUs are affected: Aptamil First Infant Milk Powder 800g (348054), Aptamil Follow-On Milk 4x200ml (422087), Aptamil Follow-On Milk 700g (422056), Kendamil Infant Milk 800g (422378) and Kendamil First Milk 250ml (422381).
  • B&M says it has removed out-of-date stock and related marketing materials from stores and is investigating how the error occurred.
  • Safety notices warn expired formula can lose nutrients and might not be safe for babies.
  • Danone confirms the items should not have been sold and reiterates that UK formula is tightly regulated and that its policy prohibits discounts on infant formula.
