Bluesky Developer Unveils Flashes, a Media-Focused App for Photo and Video Sharing

Flashes will allow Bluesky users to share up to four photos or one-minute videos, offering a streamlined visual experience distinct from text-based content.

Flashes is a new app built on Bluesky's AT Protocol, designed to focus exclusively on photo and video content from the platform.
The app is being developed by Sebastian Vogelsang, who previously created the Bluesky client Skeets, and will launch in the coming weeks.
Flashes will not operate as a standalone platform but as a client that filters Bluesky's timeline to display only media posts, with all interactions syncing back to Bluesky.
Users will be able to post up to four photos or one-minute videos, with plans for a future video-only app called Blue Screen also in development.
While free at launch, Flashes may introduce subscription-based features similar to those in Vogelsang's Skeets app, including bookmarks and rich notifications.
