Blue Origin Selects Hutto for Constellation Park Aerospace Campus

Building a 1.3 million-square-foot site to make satellite and communications hardware will deepen Central Texas’s technology and manufacturing corridor.

Overview

  • Gov. Greg Abbott announced Thursday that Blue Origin formally chose Hutto for Constellation Park, a 1.3 million-square-foot manufacturing and operations campus along Highway 79.
  • Blue Origin plans to invest more than $554.7 million in the campus and expects to create more than 2,000 full-time jobs with an average annual pay of about $88,000 over roughly ten years.
  • The State of Texas offered a performance-based enterprise fund grant of more than $18 million and a $10,000 veteran hiring bonus, while Williamson County approved a 10-year, 100% real property tax abatement plus phased abatements for other property types; the city’s full tax terms remain withheld from public records.
  • Constellation Park will produce hardware for Blue Origin’s TeraWave and Quartz programs, including antennas, solar arrays and avionics, and the company has pledged paid high-school internships and support for Hutto ISD career and technical education programs.
  • The project joins other recent space and advanced-manufacturing investments along the Highway 79 corridor and is expected to broaden Hutto’s tax base, add local career pathways and spur related development on the Hutto Crossing industrial park.
