Blue Jays Ace Manoah Hammered in Minor League Start After Demotion

Alek Manoah, Toronto Blue Jays starter, allowed 11 runs over 22⁄3 innings in a rookie-level Florida Complex League game.
Manoah gave up 10 hits, including two homers, and two walks against a lineup of mostly 17 to 19-year-old players.
Manoah was demoted by the Blue Jays in early June after a poor start to the 2023 season, posting a 1-7 record and 6.36 ERA.
Despite his struggles, Manoah was an All-Star and finished third in Cy Young Award voting last season, with a 16-7 record, 2.24 ERA, and 0.99 WHIP.
The road back for Manoah looks tough, but the Jays have him in the complex league to facilitate pitch design sessions and iron out mechanics.
