Blue Jays Ace Alek Manoah Set to Return From Minors and Start Friday

Alek Manoah, the Blue Jays' top starter, is expected to rejoin the team after being sent down to the minors in early June.
Manoah struggled in his first few starts of 2023 but made a mechanical tweak and had a strong minor league outing, striking out 10 batters over five innings.
The Blue Jays have been using a four-man rotation without Manoah but his return allows Kevin Gausman an extra day of rest before the All-Star break.
Manoah was an All-Star and finished third in Cy Young voting in 2022 with a 16-7 record and 2.24 ERA.
The Blue Jays hope Manoah can regain his 2022 form and be a key contributor in their playoff push in the second half.
