Blue Jackets hire Stanley Cup winner Mark Recchi as assistant coach

The Columbus Blue Jackets have hired three-time Stanley Cup champion Mark Recchi as an assistant coach.
Recchi previously served as an assistant for the Penguins and Devils after retiring as an NHL forward.
He will join head coach Pascal Vincent's staff following the resignation of Mike Babcock.
Recchi will be tasked with improving the Blue Jackets' struggling power play unit.
The hiring comes as the Blue Jackets look to build on recent playoff appearances and take the next step as a franchise.
