Overview
- McCaysville Police Capt. Brantley Worley was shot around 11:10 p.m. Friday while responding to a call on 1st Street.
- Authorities identified 26-year-old Timothy Craig Ramsey as the suspect and launched a search in areas near the Tennessee border.
- Worley suffered a broken neck, a brain bleed, and fluid in his lungs after being airlifted to a Chattanooga hospital.
- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation described Ramsey as 5-foot-11 and about 185 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes, last seen in a green top, dark pants, and a motorcycle helmet.
- Police warned that Ramsey is armed and extremely dangerous and urged the public not to approach him as the Blue Alert remains active.
