Overview
- Maximum darkening is expected around 20:11 MESZ, with totality ending near 20:52–20:53 MESZ as Germany observes only the later stages of the eclipse.
- Moonrise times vary by city, including Berlin 19:37, München 19:39–19:40, Frankfurt 19:53, Stuttgart 19:49, Hamburg 19:52 and Köln 20:01 (MESZ).
- Experts advise patience at moonrise because the eclipsed Moon can be very dim, with Planetarium Hamburg’s Björn Voss noting waits of a half-hour or longer even in clear conditions.
- Observatories and planetariums are planning public viewings, with facilities in Niedersachsen and Bremen opening around 19:00–20:15 and operating only in good weather, some offering live projections if clouds persist.
- The event is visible across parts of Europe, Asia and Africa, and the dimmed Moon may reveal fainter stars and Saturn in the evening sky.
