Overview
- Block publicly launched Buzz on July 21 as a free, open-source collaboration app that places humans and AI agents in the same workspaces.
- Each human and agent gets its own cryptographic keypair on the Nostr protocol so every message, code event and workflow action is a signed, reviewable record.
- Buzz is model-agnostic and supports agents from multiple frameworks, including Anthropic’s Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex and Block’s own goose, and the code is available under an Apache 2.0 license on GitHub.
- Block offers a managed beta relay that is free at launch while teams can self-host a Nostr relay for full control, but hosted relays are not end-to-end encrypted and Block has not finalized usage limits or some governance and approval features.
- The product is early-stage with desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux shipping now, mobile clients and some workflow approval controls still unfinished, and the project builds on Block’s prior agent work and Jack Dorsey’s long-term support for Nostr.
