Blizzard Sets WoW Forever Launch for November and Opens Beta Next Week

The company says Forever will live alongside Modern and Classic and aims to preserve social gameplay while selling optional paid upgrade packs

Overview

  • Blizzard announced at BlizzCon that World of Warcraft: Forever will launch on November 4, 2026, with a public beta beginning September 17, 2026.
  • Forever is a Classic+ branch that permanently caps characters at level 60 and ships at launch with three new zones, more than 1,000 quests, nine dungeons, and two raids.
  • The game adds the Skyborne playable race and new race/class combinations, but Blizzard confirmed Skyborne access can be gated by optional paid upgrade packs that also include early unlocks and beta access.
  • Forever includes modern quality‑of‑life options—an SD/HD model toggle, opt‑in transmog, camping for shared buffs, a Legacy progression system, selectable rulesets including Hardcore, and gamepad support.
  • Blizzard used BlizzCon to outline a broader slate with Diablo V targeting spring 2029 and a new open‑world StarCraft shooter targeting 2030 while releasing a free graphics update and paid Forsaken Kingdom campaign for Warcraft III: Reforged.
