Blizzard Issues Refunds After Overwatch 2 Skin Becomes Free Within 24 Hours

Blizzard refunded players who purchased the Lucio Cyber DJ skin after it was made free less than a day later as a Twitch drop reward.
The skin, originally priced at 2,800 Overwatch Coins (around $28), was part of the Cyber Fiend bundle offered in the in-game shop.
Players expressed frustration online, calling the situation a betrayal and criticizing Blizzard's approach to monetization.
To address the backlash, Blizzard also announced a second free skin, Flirty Flare Baptiste, available as a Twitch drop during the February 12 Spotlight event.
The controversy comes as Overwatch 2 faces increasing competition from Marvel Rivals, which has drawn away parts of its player base.
