Most of U.S. to Experience Unusually Warm Christmas Due to El Niño

Blizzard conditions are expected to grip Nebraska and South Dakota from Christmas Eve through Wednesday, with up to 18 inches of snow forecasted in some areas.
Strong winds, up to 60 miles per hour in some parts of South Dakota and 40 mph in Nebraska, are expected to create large snow drifts and reduce visibility.
A winter weather advisory extends into Wyoming and Colorado, with a winter storm watch extending south into northern Kansas.
Despite the storm, most of the U.S. will experience an unusually warm Christmas due to the El Niño climate pattern.
The snow cover across the U.S. is at near-record lows for this time of year, with the best chance for a white Christmas being in Alaska.
