Blinkit Breaks Records on New Year’s Eve with Unusual Party Orders

The delivery platform saw record-breaking demand for condoms, snacks, and quirky items as India celebrated the arrival of 2025.

Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa shared that the platform achieved its highest-ever orders in a single day on New Year’s Eve 2024, with record-breaking orders per minute and per hour.
Over 1.22 lakh packs of condoms were sold through Blinkit by 10 PM, with chocolate and strawberry flavors being the most popular choices.
Other top-selling items included 2.34 lakh packets of Aloo Bhujia, 45,531 bottles of tonic water, 22,322 PartySmart hangover tablets, and 2,434 packets of Eno for acidity relief.
Unconventional purchases like lemons, men’s underwear, and over 1,000 lipsticks highlighted the diverse party preparations across the country.
Generous tipping trends were also noted, with Bengaluru leading in total tips and Hyderabad making the highest individual tip of ₹2,500 to a delivery partner.
