Overview

• CHP said a truck carrying barrels of bleach and muriatic acid hit the median near the Magdalena Avenue exit at about 12:52 p.m., causing leaks.
• All southbound lanes initially closed with traffic diverted to the Magdalena off-ramp as two northbound lanes were shut for hazmat operations.
• By around 3:40 p.m., officials reported two northbound lanes and one southbound lane had reopened, and drivers were urged to avoid the area.
• The fire department said all lanes were expected to reopen by about 5:30 p.m. local time.
• Fire officials said the truck occupants self-extricated without injury and reported no threat to the public, and the cause has not been disclosed.
