Overview

  • A fire broke out around 4 am in the garage area of Goldman’s two-storey Bulimba home and was under control by about 6:15 am.
  • Smoke alarms and a Tesla dashcam alerted the family and neighbours, enabling Mike Goldman, his wife, their one-year-old son and two others to evacuate without injury.
  • Goldman briefly re-entered the burning house to rescue the family dog, which firefighters brought out roughly ten minutes later.
  • Queensland Fire and Emergency Services confined the blaze to the front of the house and remained on scene until around 8 am to dampen hotspots and support investigators.
  • Early probes focus on an electrical fuse box fault near the child’s bedroom as the likely cause of the fire.
