Harrison Burton No. 21 beats Kyle Busch No. 8 to the finish line, Saturday August 24, 2024 to win the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

Overview

  • Starting 13th with two laps to go, Ryan Blaney surged to beat Daniel Suárez by 0.031 seconds in a four-wide dash, his second win of 2025 and second at Daytona.
  • Suárez, Justin Haley, Cole Custer and Erik Jones completed the top five, but a first-time 2025 winner was denied, preserving the final playoff spots for points qualifiers.
  • A 12-car crash on lap 27/28 eliminated Alex Bowman after Tyler Reddick’s lap-18 spin; Reddick clinched on points and Bowman later clinched when Blaney took the checkered flag.
  • Qualifying was canceled by weather, so NASCAR’s metric set the grid with Blaney on pole and Bowman starting second.
  • The 16-driver playoff field is finalized with Reddick and Bowman advancing, and the Round of 16 opens at Darlington Raceway on Aug. 31.
