Overview
- BlackRock disclosed on Wednesday that its digital-assets category rose 63% in Q3 to $79.6 billion, up from $48.8 billion at the end of June.
- Of the $30.8 billion added during the quarter, $22.9 billion came from market appreciation and $7.9 billion came from net investor inflows.
- The franchise remains concentrated in the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) with the iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) as a smaller driver and Arkham’s on-chain tracking showed a similar jump to about $77.1 billion.
- BlackRock reported $39 million in quarterly fees and securities-lending revenue from its crypto products and said digital assets contributed roughly $8 billion of the firm’s $135 billion in ETF flows while overall AUM hit $15.5 trillion.
- Despite the rebound, crypto holdings are about 23% below the roughly $104 billion peak in September 2025, so future headline AUM will hinge on continued price gains and sustained investor inflows.
