BlackRock Debuts Bitcoin ETP in Europe, Expanding Global Crypto Presence
The iShares Bitcoin ETP launches on major European exchanges with Coinbase as custodian and competitive fees through 2025.
- BlackRock has launched its first Bitcoin exchange-traded product (ETP) outside North America, now trading on Xetra, Euronext Paris, and Euronext Amsterdam.
- The ETP, listed under the tickers IB1T and BTCN, offers European investors direct exposure to Bitcoin through a regulated financial product.
- Coinbase, already the custodian for BlackRock's U.S. Bitcoin ETF, will provide custody services for the European ETP as well.
- To attract investors, BlackRock has temporarily reduced the ETP's management fee to 0.15% until the end of 2025.
- This move follows the success of BlackRock's U.S.-based iShares Bitcoin Trust, which leads the global spot Bitcoin ETF market with over $50 billion in assets.
