Overview

• Nicolette Goldrick, 51, was sentenced to 12 months in prison at Preston Crown Court on 7 October and made subject to a five-year restraining order.
• She pleaded guilty on 28 July to child abduction and assaulting an emergency worker after verbally abusing police and spitting at an officer during her arrest.
• Just before noon on 10 May on Central Drive in Blackpool, she released a pram brake and pushed away a seven-month-old before the mother and a bystander stopped her.
• Police said the baby was unharmed, and the attempted abduction was captured on CCTV and supported by witness accounts.
• At sentencing, the court heard of recent bereavements and mental-health issues, while the victims’ statement described the incident as the worst day of their lives.
