Overview

• The switch-on takes place Friday, August 29, with the lights due to be turned on at 9:15pm at Tower Festival Headland.
• VisitBlackpool states tickets do not guarantee entry, access is first come first served, and 24,000 complimentary tickets were issued with a recommendation to be inside the arena by 20:15.
• Trams will run a split service because of crowding, with Manchester Square the stop for Starr Gate services and North Pier the preferred stop for Fleetwood and Cleveleys.
• Bus diversions away from the promenade begin at noon on switch-on day and will be in place on all Fridays and Saturdays from August 29 to November 1 to manage busy periods.
• Gates open at 4pm with performances from 5:30pm by Olly Murs, Louisa Johnson and Toploader, and a live screening zone near Central Pier will show the event for those without tickets.
