Blackhawks Activate Laurent Brossoit, Assign Goalie to Rockford for Conditioning

The AHL stint serves as his first step toward game action following an extended rehabilitation.

Chicago moved Brossoit off the injured non-roster and sent him to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs on a conditioning assignment that can last up to 14 days.
He has not played since the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and Rockford’s home game Friday against the Colorado Eagles could be his first appearance since then.
He missed the entire 2024–25 season after right knee meniscus repair and a follow-up scope, then underwent hip surgery that GM Kyle Davidson said would keep him out long term.
Signed in July 2024 on a two-year deal with a reported $3.3 million cap hit this season, Brossoit has yet to debut for Chicago and owns a 140-game NHL resume with a 2.64 GAA and .911 save percentage.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports the team is expected to explore a trade if he proves ready, with Sportsnet linking Edmonton as a possible destination and salary retention potentially required.
