BLACKGOLD Exits CKY UK Support After Bristol Pullout, Citing Chad I Ginsburg's 'Narcissism'

CKY continues the UKIreland run with different openers following the public split.

Overview

  • Hours before showtime at The Fleece in Bristol on November 4, BLACKGOLD announced they would not perform and said they were leaving the support slot.
  • In a video statement, the band said they "can not support that type of narcissism" and "can not be around that guy," referring to CKY frontman Chad I Ginsburg.
  • CKY’s remaining dates are proceeding with other support acts, including False Reality, Molly Vulpyne Band and Jools, through a November 21 London show.
  • The fallout revived attention to a November 2024 dispute in which Alien Ant Farm’s Dryden Mitchell said Ginsburg punched him, a claim Ginsburg described at the time as self-defence.
  • BLACKGOLD told fans they plan to return with their own show soon, following the release of their October 24 EP, while musicians such as Sanguine’s Ross Andrew voiced support for their decision.
