Overview
- The blaze ignited late Sunday morning near Black Rock Campground in Joshua Tree National Park, just south of Yucca Valley, with first reports around 10:30 a.m.
 - Black Rock Campground was evacuated and closed to the public to support firefighting operations.
 - Incident command reported the fire was fully surrounded by retardant and its forward spread was stopped just before 2 p.m.
 - Cal Fire estimated the burn area at about 66 acres as of early afternoon.
