Charlie Brooker used ChatGPT to generate a "Black Mirror" episode but found the results lacking in original thought.
Brooker decided not to use the AI-written script and instead opted to push the boundaries of the show in new ways for season six.
The bot simply repackaged old "Black Mirror" ideas and proved AI cannot replace human writers.
Brooker's experiment helped him identify tropes to avoid and inspired him to "break the rules" of the show.
Season six of "Black Mirror" will debut on Netflix June 15 and feature an all-star cast.
