Black College Football Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Class, Including Steve Wyche
Public recognition comes during the HBCU Legacy Bowl broadcast on Feb. 21.
Overview
- The six inductees are Steve Wyche (contributor), Jimmy Smith, Eddie Robinson Jr., Nick Collins, Tyrone Poole and coach Rudy Hubbard.
- Honorees will be recognized at halftime of the 5th Annual Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, airing on NFL Network at 4 p.m. ET on Feb. 21.
- A formal induction ceremony is scheduled for June 6 in Atlanta.
- Wyche, a 1989 Howard graduate and NFL Network’s chief national reporter since 2008, has helped elevate HBCU events through expanded coverage and broadcasts.
- Founded in 2009, the Black College Football Hall of Fame maintains a permanent home at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
