BJP Unveils Vajpayee Statue in Nellore as Andhra Yatra Advances

The statewide campaign uses centenary tributes to link Vajpayee-era projects with the Modi government’s development pitch.

  • On December 15, a bronze statue of Atal Bihari Vajpayee was unveiled at Harnathapuram Circle in Nellore by BJP state president P. V. N. Madhav alongside local ministers and MPs.
  • The event is part of the Atal–Modi Good Governance/Suparipalana Yatra running across Andhra Pradesh from December 11 to 25.
  • On December 14, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami unveiled a Vajpayee statue at Marrigunta junction in Renigunta, which officials said will be renamed Atal Bihari Vajpayee Circle.
  • Dhami also unveiled a statue at Annamayya Circle in Madanapalle and said Vajpayee’s governance model guides India’s push for self-reliance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Organisers are combining statue unveilings, junction renamings, bike rallies and public meetings to spotlight government achievements by drawing on Vajpayee’s legacy.
