BJP Names Devyani Rana and Aga Syed Mohsin for J&K Bypolls as Party Unveils Multi-State Slate

The Central Election Committee cleared the list in a formal release from New Delhi.

Overview

Voting for eight assembly by-elections is scheduled for November 11 with counting on November 14.
Devyani Rana will contest from Nagrota in Jammu and Aga Syed Mohsin will run from Budgam in the Valley.
The slate also lists Babulal Soren for Ghatshila in Jharkhand, Jay Dholakia for Nuapada in Odisha, and Lankala Deepak Reddy for Jubilee Hills in Telangana.
Rana is the daughter of the late Devender Singh Rana, a former Nagrota representative.
The Budgam seat was vacated by Omar Abdullah after he retained Ganderbal, while Nagrota fell vacant following Devender Singh Rana’s death last year.
