BJP Announces Major Infrastructure Push Ahead of Mumbai Civic Elections

The BJP is focusing on infrastructure improvements in Mumbai ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, with Union Minister Piyush Goyal unveiling several key projects.
Work on the Versova-to-Bhayandar phase of the Mumbai Coastal Road Project is set to begin within 45 days, pending final clearances, with the aim of reducing traffic congestion.
Upgraded healthcare facilities, including the reopening of Bhagwati Hospital by May 2025, and improvements at Shatabdi and Bhansali hospitals, are part of the initiative.
Plans include new pipelines to address water supply issues, a desalination plant in Malad West, and localized waste processing units in each ward to improve waste management.
The BJP reiterated its commitment to slum redevelopment, promising free permanent housing for slum dwellers on-site, alongside sports and skill development centers in North Mumbai.
