BJP and AAP Clash Over Voter List Manipulation Claims Ahead of Delhi Elections

AAP accuses BJP of tampering with voter rolls under 'Operation Lotus,' while BJP alleges AAP is adding illegal voters to the list.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that the BJP is orchestrating 'Operation Lotus' to manipulate voter rolls in the New Delhi constituency by deleting 5,000 votes and adding 7,500 new ones since December 15.
BJP leaders, including Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, have dismissed the allegations, claiming instead that AAP is registering illegal voters, including Rohingyas, to bolster its voter base.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh has accused the BJP of targeting Purvanchali voters, alleging that the party tried to delete his wife's name from the voter list twice in December.
Both parties have filed complaints with the Election Commission, with BJP alleging fraudulent voter registrations and AAP accusing BJP of attempting to suppress votes in key constituencies.
The escalating conflict comes as both parties prepare for the Delhi Assembly elections, expected to be held in early 2025, with AAP defending its stronghold and BJP aiming to expand its influence.
