Bit2Me Launches Bit2Shield to Manage Seized Cryptocurrency

Using Bit2Me's MiCA CASP authorization with Chainalysis tracing, courts and banks gain a regulated route for custody to sale of seized crypto.

Overview

  • Bit2Me launched Bit2Shield (registered as CryptoShield S.L.) on Tuesday to formalize services it has been providing to courts, police and financial institutions for tracing, seizure, custody and liquidation of crypto.
  • Seized assets will be held in multisignature cold wallets under Bit2Shield's custody until competent authorities order a sale, while crypto-to-euro conversions will be executed by Bitcoinforme S.L., Bit2Me’s MiCA-authorized entity.
  • Bit2Shield will offer digital forensics, on-site assistance during searches and seizures, source-of-funds certification, and training, and its investigative work will be led by former UCO officer Adrián Maroño.
  • Bit2Me has already processed about €1.5 million in seized crypto for Interpol, Europol and Spanish police during 2025 and will rely on Chainalysis transaction tracing to locate and monitor assets through the legal workflow.
  • The launch reflects a wider shift in regulated crypto infrastructure under EU MiCA rules as Bit2Me grows B2B services, seeks cross‑EU passporting, and positions banks and courts to outsource complex custody and liquidation tasks.
